which is the better tank size for a silver aro?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i will post some tonight or tomorrow of the 72X30X24 if i can make time, otherwise i'll wait until after i setup the 240 and have the tanks ready to be photographed.

neither tank is big enough for 3 silvers by far. one silver either tank would last years, 3 need a bigger tank now. if these are upgrades, im scared to hear what their in now.

" common sense would tell you that you cant keep 3 silver arowanas in a tank that size."

lol are you kidding me? the person originally criticizing me is keeping 2 large silvers in a 180gl with a smaller footprint than EITHER of my tanks with what looks like 6-8 medium to large cichlids. why arent you criticizing him as much if not more than me?

lol, not upgrades but nice try. they're in the 225 now and i've got an extra 240gl that i may use as well. but as of now i'm building an 8X4X4 tank in my garage and will post pix when i'm done so you guys can flame that as well.

perhaps because he didnt ask for anybodies opinion, you did.

don't you think its a bit stupid to criticize someone elses question/comment when you're doing something worse? anybody who thinks its okay to criticize while commiting the same or worse behavior needs to have their head checked.

exactly. if that person would have posted your question, he would have gotten the same reply. and its not about picking on people, its about doing whats right for the fish you have. i have a 10" silver aro in a 7x2x2 and im already planning on what upgrade im gonna need down the road. your aros arent done growing either.

hope you got your flame retardant suit on

and i dont see what the problem is with the criticism. nobody's flaming you either, no need to get defensive. you asked which tank would be better, and we said neither, what the problem with that?

" and its not about picking on people, its about doing whats right for the fish you have."

so do you run around and comment on all of the pix in the photo lounge of "overstocked" tanks or do you only have the guts to do it when someone is asking a legit question?

if it was really about doing whats right for the fish, which with the criticizers its not, you would have asked how they are kept, filtration, etc. but none of you did. people just make mindless statements that they parrot from other people on here.

are these tanks overstocked? because if you think they are some of the senior members of this forum completely disagree with you...

if you already have it in your mind that either tank is fine, why ask?

if i had to choose between the 2 tanks i'd say 240 to let those aro's strech out in till the 8x4x4 is built.
