You know im going to catch crap for this.. But Salvini's are silent killers with teeth way to big for their bodies. They are little sticks of dynamite.

I've always kept Oscars and very recently I have just gotten into Jack Dempseys myself. So my opinion is kinda limited to what I've ever witnessed. However one of my buddies has a 300 gallon Central American Cichlid community tank. Easily the most BA fish in that tank that not only demanded respect from the others (JDs, Convicts, Texas, Firemouth and Green Terror) but from you as well was a Jaguar. Man that fish was just absolutely brutal in that tank. Every fish was raised together too and still yet that Jag was nuts. It would attack him sometimes when he did maintenance on the tank.

i've never owned a dovii or an umbee or a jag but ive had oscars, tilapias (buttikoferis are NOT african), green terrors, jack dempseys, texas, firemouths, severums, red devils, midas. so the meanest one i ever owned was a male red devil midas from the point he hit 4 inches to the point i got rid of him at 8 inches for all the casualties (including wives and other tankmates). he stood up my 4 red belly piranha for three days before they got him and they were his size.

the meanest fish i ever owned was a jaguar cichlid. he started off pretty standoffish and didnt eat much. after i started to feed my fish live shrimp, beefheart, and occasionally minnows, he showed his true colors. he would have 3 or 4 minnows in his mouth at once. my shy little fish turned into a full fledge killer. i started my tank off with a jag, jd, gt, jewel turquoise, texas, common pleco and a painted turtle that i caught while fishing. about eight months later i only had a jag and a turtle. and the turtle even got picked with. gotta love em

Meanest I have kept is jaguar by far he used to beat both my oscars and he was smaller than them, got a red devil in a growout tank ATM and he is proving to be quite a character. Used to have a bada*s buttikoferi aswell
