Is the Retics or the histrix the smaller ray when Adult?

scobina is the smallest rayif you can find them you would also have trouble finding a true hystrix

As far as smallest, I'm Ref. to disc.

I seen some hystrix for sale on craigslist colorado at 5-6" disc.
I have a 5x2x2 and wanted to add a Ray, so I was looking to put a small ray that can be housed in here

What would be the min width for a small ray?
If all goes well with my real. agent, I should be ordering a huge tank late next yr. Hoping for a 5'wide tank.
But I have to think of the other side too, If I dont get it (next yr) then the Ray would have to stay in the 150 for 2 yrs. Will a ray about 6" or so max out in 2yrs? Hystrix or Retics

How much are they charging? Probably not a true Hystrix.. likely a Peruvian Histrix, which will probably get about twice the size of a true Hystrix..

$80.00 for 6"

i think a 6" disk will turn into a 10"+ disk very fast....

You could possibly house it in there for a year without problems, but im not sure about 2 years.

Any longer is definitely RISKY.

you should take some pics of the ray and put them up for an ID. If it is not a true hystrix, then the ray will more then likely grow bigger, and should be cheaper.
