you could do female of either in that tank, maybe a male blue but yeah def not a male regular (at least not for life) blues tend to be much harder to care for though and tend to have sudden die offs if you dont get one with strong genes and tend to have deformities such as a beak face and things like that, but if you can find a good healthy looking blue thats already got some size on it then that would be good choice and you could put some tetras or something in with it
 
Normal JD.

EBJD's are horrible. They are line bred and are basically weak versions of normal JD's. And honestly, I think normal JD's look better anyway.

EBJD's will just up and die for no good reason because they are the weaker spawn of an already awesome fish.
 
ive had my EBJD since it was about an inch and its almost 4" now and a pair of ebjd could live in a 55. I would go with the ebjd, and hopefully you dont get an inbreed one and a purebred like i have. good luck
 
Personally I prefer the look of good regular jd specimen over the ebjd
