I did not say his darker1 are or would be male, I said most of "MY" darker1 turned out male, how can you disagree with that? .lol..;)

I just thought you were saying "keep the dark one because the dark one I had turned out male." I just meant to bring up a different situation, but since mbunafishkeeper said I agree I just said I disagree, involuntarily. Sorry bout that, you're right it doesn't really make any sense to disagree with what happened.

Its all good, I was just a little  thinking you thought that i was saying all dark Jags was male

like i say is all good mate ;)

I bought 6 jags and when i grew them to see which one would have the best markings then got rid of the rest and i now have a very very nice jag i would tell u to do the same do u want a dark fish in your tank or have a nice jag

I guess I'll update this now. One of the jags was killed. The larger one is still the largest and the other one remaining is still really dark, so it's probably a lost cause right now to try to determine how nice it would be (esp. w/ the cheapo black trashbag background), but I'll post my most recent shots. I think since the smaller one is less aggressive, even if its not as nice, it would probably be the most "community" safe.

In the last pic you posted that Jag has a cloudy eye, is it just that pic or is his/her eye always like that?

I'd keep the more active one. The color will improve as they get bigger.

I just don't know how to take good pix. It doesn't have a cloudy eye.

I put the 2 jags in my 125 to see how they do in there. That is where I hope to keep 1 eventually, anyway. Hopefully, I can sell the rest of the cichlids to make room for my jardini tank inhabitants. I was going to try to get 3 SA/CA cichlids into my "dream" tank, but I think I'm just going to go with a jag, maybe get 1 larger oscar or gold saum/gt later down the road. If I would be able to get the 210 i found and keep my 125, i would probably keep them, but I can't.

I'm just worried that more active and male might equal trouble (aggression) to the other inhabitants. Guess only time will tell.
