What line would you guys use? for baitcasting for bass. in medium cover. i say medium cause some spots i fish have no cover and others have lots? also what lb test should i get?

clear water, stained, top water ,shallow crank ,deep crank, spinnerbait, jig, etc. will dictate what style of line you use. I like to use power pro when fishing cover this lets horse them out.flourcarbon in clear water not on topwater though because it sinks faster than mono. I would use the xtra tough in most other situations

i use nothing but braided lines. 4lb diameter with 12 lb strengh. cant beat em.

i fish both clear and stained. i use in order from most often to least: plastic worms/jigging, spinner baits, top water, then mostly shallow crank. i want a line that would be ok for all of these situations.

:iagree: Great all purpose line.If you have never used it remember braids dont stertch. If you move your line an inch your lure will move an inch. Also you dont a need monster hook set and you will be able make longer hook sets because of no stretch. Be careful when fishing topwater wait till you feel the fish pull or you will pull the lure out of his mouth. How good are you with a baitcaster? I can give you a tip on how minimize backlashes.

Does the line actually matter ? I use 15 lb green berkley big game fishing . I am fairly new to fishing thought all lines same .

I use it to cast out from lake shore in hopes of catching a big bass with lure . I cast it out roughly 30 feet granted will change line if other line would help me cast it further.
