Not all loaches will eat snails. Which species have you tried aside from clown loaches? Hillstreams, kuhlis and horsefaced loaches don't. As for dojos, mine do not eat snails from hatchlings to adults.T;3256852; said:ii think all loaches are pretty good at maintaining snail population.
Actually yoyo loaches are far more versatile in consuming snails than clown loaches due to their elongated snout. And for the record, before anyone suggests clown loaches, please ask for the tank size before you do. A lot of clown loaches end up stunted as a result of insufficient accommodations. If you opt to keep loaches in small tanks, see the sticky threads for smaller species with length no more than 6 inches.Eric A;3256938; said:I agree with the above. Clown loaches are the best IMO.
