which loach would best control snails?

Going to be hard to teach a loach not to search for food...

If maintenance is the objective, maybe try Lupins method of a little less food.

yoyo are cheaper then clowns

for my money, yo-yos are a great choice . . . they don't grow as large as clowns, they don't "wipe-out" the snails (I still have plenty), but they do control them . . . and, while Lupin's advice is solid, I looooove my yo-yos

I also like clowns, but they grow big . . . and while zebras did a great job for one of my tanks, I don't find them interesting at all . . .
