Some of you have read my blog entry on mixing loach species. I was wondering which loaches you successfully keep together. I know some here have kept loaches that typically don't get along, I would especially like to hear about those. So how about it?

i had clowns and queen loaches together before...

Clowns and Botia Dario seem to get along well. My only issue is the smaller Queens might have a hard time competing for food as the Clowns outgrow them.

I am currently keeping 7 clowns, 4 yoyos and 3 blue botias together all are in the 4" to 7" range.

I love keeping Clowns and Yoyos together, they get along very well. I have had a problem with larger modestas in the past, but I never tried more than one. How is it working out for you? Is there any chasing by the modestas?

I tryed 6 clowns and a blue botia in a 30 gallon, It didnt work out. I plan on trying it again in the 240gallon as soon as the clowns get a bit bigger. The botia is close to the 6" range now. Can you have a school of blue botia's together peacefully? I might try that instead of getting more clown loachs.

I just started growing up some small loaches/botias for my mom's tank. so far, I have 2 clowns, 1 striata, 2 black kuhlis and 1 angelicus that I can't seem to find, although they're not mentioned as being hard to keep together except for the kuhli loaches. i hope to find more. how many would you recommend in a 125-gal (72x18) for life?

I would definitely get more clowns. The kuhliis might be tough to spot in a 125. The Angelicus should work fine as well as the Striata, but striata stay small, so it might be a problem later.
