which of these cichlid tankmate options will work? 55 Gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
thanks, i will probably go with #4, but i was anyways wondering what would happen if 2 male jack dempseys were in a 55 gallon with 2 raphael catfish?

2 ,ale jack dempseys is a bad idea... Besides the fact that they would constantly fight you would need a lot of filtration imagine having two 8-10" cichlids in a 55.. Also they would not have enough territory for each to claim...

that's what i was afraid of, that is why i will do #4 because they are all compatible, btw can blood parrots, convicts, and firemouths be consume and digest live nightcrawlers? BTW i live in the country so there is no pesticides

Yes, you'd probably want to cut them into small pieces though. :)

ok thanks, when i get the cichlids i will feed them normal cichlid flakes, pellets, bloodworms, dried brine shrimp, live nightcrawlers, live earthworms, live crickets, live flies, and live moths, btw the "be" in the question above was a typo lol

I personally would go with #3. I like Jacks way more than Bp's. Either way sounds like a neat set up. I have a stripped Raphael and I really want another. They are cool cats.

Just to throw it out there, there is also a spotted raphael cat. I like to keep one of each so I can tell them apart easily
