If i remember correctly, people say you don't need 1080 unless above 42" is because the amount of pixels on screen aren't visibly different...

I got a 32" samsung 720P with 60,000 contrast ratio.
A friend got a 42" 1080P phillips and hands down, the picture on mine looks far better than on his.

With black ops, I had only seen it on mine. I went to his place and honestly thought he had his settings wrong or was using the stock 360 RCI cord or something.

Nope, his settings were identical, and he actually had a better quality HDMI cord than I do.

My sams has richer dark colors, blacker blacks, and far better clarity.
Some of the very slight movements from enemy far away that i am used to seeing, were not even detectible on his.

Also, if you haven't tried a good set of true surround sound headphones like the TRITON AX PRO, TRITON Warhead 7.1Dolby, or Turtle beach XP500, then you have REALLY been missing out!

Mine let me hear sounds I didn't even know were in the game when I was just using my dolby 7.1 room surround system.

I can hear footsteps clear enough to know if they are walking on grassy ground, hard urban floors, or loose gravel/glass etc.
I can tell not only if they are behind or in front, but pretty much any angle.
Helicopters are the same. I can not only know what direction, but what angle above me they are at, just by sound alone.

I cant tell you how many times Ive been saved by hearing someone creep up, like on jungle in the ruins, know exactly where they are by the sound of their feet hitting first a dirt path, then the brick floor of a walkway, and the precise direction they are coming from.

I never had that with room surround, or even with the Turtle beach X31s.
