Here are a couple of old set ups of thorichthys in planted tanks.

Both those tanks look amazing, I will have to just go out one day and get all the supplies I can find

The only things I paid for was the substrate and plants, decor wise. The rest I collected in woodland.
I wouldn't waste any money on wood or rocks.

Yeah, what substrate did you use for your tanks as I know Thorichthys need fine sand. I currently have playsand but I want to change it as it’s too fine and the filter sucks up tons of it and just ruins my filter

mesh size #20 silica sand, which you can get at Home Depot or pool filter sand from a Pool and Spa Store.
