Silver Dats are the same as American's (AT), right? I think the LFS told me they were in regular freshwater. . .

can be brackish or fresh. and yes, silvers and AT are common names of the same fish datnioides polota. ive always kept mine in fresh. what will you keep with it? they can be aggresive to other dats, or datlike fish.

id go silver. like islander said, they can be kept brackish or FW. mine are in FW. they have great personalities and after 3 days they come right up to the front of the tank whenever i come close

Funny how things work out. . . I went to the LFS and the dats were GONE but I ended up buying an archer fish instead. I'm thinking a brackish setup in the future. . . Anyone here think that a (brackish) DAT would fight with an archer?
