Which overflow design?

I run the two one inch over flows like the one in top photo I know it works and it's work flawlessly for three years. Several power outages and flawless restars.

does anybody have any info on this design, as in what its called or instructions on how to make it?

It looks like a modified version of the DIY overflow ver 9999 - http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?311243-DIY-Overflow-Ver-9999

I built a similar modified version too.
