Feeder fish that are treated with coppersafe and stuffed with Hikari pellets.

Thanks oscarfishguy.I was impressed with Omega One and their claims when they came out but I don't think they have a line of pellets.

Yes omega has a line of pellets. Floating and sinking and theres been much debate lately over the best food. NLS, OMEGA ONE and Hikari generally in that order. Hikari is very starchy tho and has alot of fillers. IMO O1!

When I got my orinos a month ago at 1.5" they would barely take blood worms, then within a few weeks I got then onto hikari floating sticks, I tried omega one but they don't like it and spit it back out, so I definitely say try different pellets

Hikari Cichlid Gold is your best bet. Bio-Gold is an African cichlid diet and has a fair amount of spirulina and vegetable matter...something our cichla would never eat in the wild. And as far as the proper time to get them onto pellets? ASAP!!!

Anything hikari. FOr some reason they take really easy to floating sticks. And massivore works wonders as well. I usually start em off w/ the cichlid gold..sinking in the blue bag.
