Number one has the fish in a great pose.

Great looking fish, here is an example of cropping your photo. This way you see the fish and are not distracted by background images.

I agree. Unfortunately the POTM is more of a popularity contest than a photo contest, and I don't believe an African Cichlid will win. It sucks, but that is the way it is.

I personally vote for the picture I think looks best and has the most skill involved, a skillful shot of a school of tetras is better then a picture of a big Aros. Others seem to vote for Dats, Aros, P-Bass and the like.

I also happen to agree. That *****tie pic of the blood red aro still got a lot of votes just because it was an illegal fish. It upset me.

Hopefully we can overcome the "coolest fish of the month contest" and we can have a "real" photo of the month contest.
