I wouldn't put either of those fish in there for life. I would turn that into a small community tank. Maybe some RAM cichlids or something.

Maybe not the gulper, but I have seen time and again people keeping Erythrinus in both 20g L, and 29g's, they seem to fare pretty well. Although as with any fish, the bigger the tank the better.

Depends on your location, availability contributes a lot in terms of price. Around here it's $20 - $30 for a 3 - 4"er.

What are the actual measurements of the tank... i know you said it was 3ft wide, but what about front to back? coz in all honesty, just going by the amount of water the tank will hold doesn't really help people give you advice...

especially if the tank is say for example... 1ft (L) X 1ft (W) X 4ft (H) since you wouldn't be able to keep a fish more than a few inches in there...

12 x 15 x 36. iv tryed green spotted puffers. but they wernt really my thing. they gr8 little creatures n they make a funny noise went crunching on shrimps..

i actually have a 4ft tank aswel same dimensions but 4ft. the stand is shoddy and the glass ledge on the inside of tank has bin on 1 side dwn its length. witch i why im thinking about the 3ft.

i take it the tank front to back is 12"? if that is the case, then unfortunately it would seem you are going to be limiting yourself a little as far as stocking predators go...

I know this is probably out of the question, but have you considered upgrading the tank? maybe have something that is 3ft wide, but say 18" - 24" front to back? would give you a bit more options stock wise...

i have..but i dnt have the money for a new tank and a new fish ... id live a 4ftx4ftx4ft.. that would suit me for life lol.. but i spose i can dream for now..
