Which puffer is this?

Dear experts,

Please help to ID this little fella. He is about 3 inches now in a 15 gallon. I am thinking to get a bigger tank for him before he grow any bigger. Just wondering what's its adult size so that i could get the correct size tank for him

I have zero experience with salt water puffers, but that looks like it might be a "Stars and Stripes" puffer... if that is the case and you plan on keeping it, then you'll need to plan for a much larger saltwater tank for it in the future... around min. 150G - 200G
 
Looks like a fugu to me, possibly Takifugu niphobles. Is it in brackish or marine? Any idea where it was collected?

This fella is in brickish when i got it from the shop.

Any idea how big can he grow? It is currently in a 50G.
 
He'll need that 50g & will do best in marine conditions.
What SG is he at now? Is that tank cycled?
 
yes, the tank is cycled. water is clean all the time.

will move them to a 50G soon.

what does "SG" means? (sorry, quite new to this forum)
