Which pump for 540 gallon tank?

ragin_cajun, I actually checked out your build thread when looking around. My 540 is a older one but its build from Midwest Aquarium as well. I will really have to look into these Lagunas

Check out the Sicce synchra HF 16... 4200 gph. I was just looking at it for a future 300gal, looks pretty legit

I run 2x Laguna 2000's on my tank.I love them!

I am in agreement with using two pumps (and having a spare on hand) I have a Laguna 2400 that is very quiet and a Rio that is also fairly silent. If either fails the other will keep filtration going and I can put my spare in then order a new spare. Also submersible pumps and heat to the system so keep that in mind.
