Just as the title says...which screws do I use?

In the past I've always used drywall screws, although I was recently told by a "master carpenter" (as he calls himself) that I should not use these and opt for regular wood screws instead as drywall screws won't hold up to this kind of weight.

The wood is premium fir/pine 2x4's...the tank is a 72x24x24 180 gallon.

The stand is going to be an identical copy of the stand found here:

A big preemptive thanks!

the big thing about a fish tank stand is that the wight isnt going to be on the screws thats just asking for trouble. some builders screw and glue their stands together then after the glue dries they remove the screws.

I have my design so that none of the weight is on the screws.

I decided to use a pocket hole jig just to keep things nice and clean.

Thanks for the input.
