Which dog do you like best? I'm so glad my own Belgian is very friendly and has always been my constant companion until I moved him to my grandparents' turf since he is constantly competing the dobie for food. *shakes head* Anyway, he'll be better off there with his sister and new son. Back when he was just a pup, I kept having nerves he'd be temperamental one day judging from all the info I read about adult Belgians. Thank goodness, that wasn't the case with him and his sister. They're very friendly. His sister did bite an idiot though who was trying to stone them.:p

If you payed money for a red eared slider...I would laugh at you.

No offense, but those things are EVERYWHERE. I get a huge kick when I see them at petco.

That being said turtles dont make particularly good pets anyways. They are constantly getting sick, and you cant cuddle them. The ones we have in the lab I work in just swim into the glass all day long. Not something that I would even want to watch.

Up to you, but I voted dog. Good first independent "pet".

i just put turtle because there somewhat cool but yes i would get one from the wild most likely..but idk its majority rules for this poll well like 75% of it is..

haha sry to hear but we got a pure bred golden retriever and shes my best friend ever by far she loves me and isnt mean to me which i learned at a young age animals are great companions..but if your asking dog breed id say these are the catergories of dog: german shephard, golden retriever, alaskan malamute, siberian husky, collie, australian shephard, pitbull, rottweiler, but i prefer mostly all of them besides last two..

I guess it's just a matter of how the dogs were raised and even allowed to socialize but a majority of German shepherds I've seen (even one owned by my deceased aunt) are absolute psychos. One bit my cousin thinking he was hitting her with a badminton racket when we were playing badminton a few years ago.:WHOA:

Or a dog. I have a bichon/poodle mix and she's really sweet.

Dang, I voted wrong. I voted leopard gecko and right as I did I noticed beside cat it said (Savannah). I pick the Savanna cat. I've always wanted one and they are really cool.

mym dad in AZ has some german shephards that are trained for like sniffing out drugs etc..and there amazing

I have to say a dog seems like a poor choice, that is a big financial and time consuming commitment. Not to sound like a parent, but being the age your talking about, money and time do not last long enough no matter who you are. Especially if you have to provide and care for some of those larger breeds. Being in college full time and working part time, you will spending literally all free time caring for it and sleeping. I would suggest either a fish tank or something of the sort.

edit: Btw I have owned a few German Shepherds, and basically my whole family both sides has always had german shepherds. I have yet to run into or hear any problems like that with the breed. Not to sound baised but the current shepherd we have now is the smartest dog I have seen so far. And he has not bit anyone or dog, I feel it has a lot to do with training and socializing when it comes to such problems.
