Which species of arowana is it?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
They do retain a lot of colour compared to silvers, granted they aren't quite as showy as a brightly coloured Asian, but with good lighting and food they are still a very attractive fish at large sizes. It's hard to capture the amount of colour on the scales, but Egon and Hao have both posted pics of blacks around 28-30" that show just how much colour they retain.

I recently purchased an aro for my monster tank, but unsure of which species it is. Can anyone help?

She shares the tank with a baby spotted gar and a knife fish. Earlier while feeding, the gar took off the aro's tail when it got in its way as it dashed for the mosquito feeder fish. Will try to post a photo of the damage. I removed the aro for now and put her in a seperate tank to heal. Hope tail grows back cause she was lovely, but it's all gone down to the base...:(
