Hey guys

not sure if there was a Tread like this before.

was just wondering who else lost other stocks which got eaten by your gars! And please also tell us which species ate what.

For me personally.

Gator ate Florida gar
Gator ate endlicheri
Tropical ate a PBB

Cheers!

3 Trops a few years ago finished off 2 dozen Scombs over a weekend. It was strange to me, as the Scombs seemed to big to possibly become a meal.

My LNG has eaten around a half a dozen or more Florida gars.
My Florida Gars devoured a Black Ghost knive and several African Black Knives.
Florida gars ate numerous clown loaches.
Both LNG & Florida gar MEGA FEAST upon the false asian "needlenose" gar.
Same thing with the false S.A gar (Huerta - Rocket) not the spotted charcain.
I lost two of my six new congo tetras to new baby florida gars last week! I quickly sepeerated the outher four.
Florida & LNG both ate numerous peacock bass.
Florida & LNG both ate numerous peacock eels.

That is just the tip of the iceburg, and in no way shape or form denotes ANYTHING that can be misconstrued as agression.

I could make an extensive list of species that the gars knew that they could not eat and brutally killed anyway. That is agression!

Eat or killed?

haven't had a gar consume unintended live prey item in about 8 years (discounting larval stage cannibalism which is almost impossible to prevent). i've had gars kill things here and there in that amount of time, but not recently. honestly, if you follow the correct info posted on this forum, you should not end up with your gars eating other tankmates (gape limitation prevents a lot of consumption, but not necessarily killing).

assuming not everyone has looked through the info on the site, we can say that if the info was read and followed nearly all listed cases would have been preventable.--

Question, Florida Gar (30 cm) can eat a Senegal Bichir (15 cm) and a Channa Lucius (15 cm) ??
