Which substrate for cichla?

I use the caribsea instant aquarium peace river rock. I love it. Everyone that comes over to check my tanks out always talk about how they like my substrate so much.
 
I reckon you should go with bare bottom. Peacock bass eats alot and poop alot so bare bottoom would be much easier to clean. plus it looks more neater :)

I know barebottom is so much easier but i am tired of having barebottom tanks. So i am going to try out some sand in my new tank. But i know in 6 months i will probably yank it out for the ease of bare:screwy:
