They are all carpintis. Cyanoguttatum do not get the bluish sparkly pearlings like that. I guess there's a chance that it is a mutation, but highly doubt it. That or they are hybrids, but everything points towards them being just normal carpintis.

OK, thanks. I didn't want to take a chance, so I ended up buying a few Texas Cichlids from LiveAquaria that they are advertising as "true Cyanno" Texas Cichlids. Hopefully I don't get more Carpintis
well, all 5 of my Carpintis are doing great, but 2 of the 5 true Texas have died already. 1 of the remaining 3 has white spot disease and the other 2 will not eat. I put in some meds and salt, hopefully they pull through.
