Thanks for the assist magpie magpie I appreciate you trying to help. The Polys sections always been a fairly busy section and it would be nice to tidy things up IMO. I don't know if I want to eliminate any of the threads in the sticky section as much as I'd like to combine threads where I can. The major issue is the time and effort needed to do so.

Combing the threads if it's to be done correctly IMO they'd have to be reorganized so the information flows in a natural easy to follow way. Like starting with a preface naming all those involved in the thread as well as the sources. Then going into a general introduction about what's covered in the thread and then finally organizing it so all the individual species information stays together instead of being strewn about.

For instance all info regarding Endlicheri would be contained in the Endlicheri section such as Endli finlet count, scale count, distinguishing characteristics, collection points, locale variants, max size, etc, etc. would all be under the Endli section.

My reason for combining rather then eliminating is for a couple of reasons. One I want anyone who put enough effort into their thread becoming a sticky to keep at least some recognition by being included in the sticky section. Two it's a part of MFK history as such I think it should be preserved and kept up prominently. Three there's still a lot of relevant data in there IMHO.

More or less if it's gonna get done it's gonna be on me. lol I'm probably going to have to copy things to my computer so I can go back and edit them whenever I have free time and then start copy pasting when things get organized.
Sound really awesome:)

At koltsixx koltsixx , This is how I would organize it .Obviously not all these are thread titles, but what I would combine/include. Of course, per usual gave more information that needed... :p Just throwing some ideas out there. :) This is the long version of what I would include

1. General information/must reads:
- intro to polys a primer
-natural history and anatomy
- updated species thread w/video and *include max sizes chart
- an intro to ID: sexing, basic difference between Lower Jaw/UJ, CB vs. WC.*?
- breeding

2. Health FAQ and How to Care for your poly:
- health issues/ questions
- general care: tank recommendations and quarantining, lighting, etc.*?
- normal behaviors
- what to feed*
-if poly won't eat

3. Lower Jaw ID
- Endli ID
- Lap ID
- catch locations ( there are some great threads on this that are not stickied)
- variants with pics

4. Upper Jaw ID

3. Let's show off our polypterus:
- show off our polys thread
- ALL FINS UP
-enclosure pics
-taking fish pix
- photo contests/ bichir of the month

4. online vendors

5. social groups
- social group list
- west cost poly

man my posts have been really long lately. Perhaps I just want to do research or write a book on polys. :p

I love the categories you put together, clm08k clm08k !

(I do think that #5 could go away though. West coast poly is for pics only, and I don't think the social groups exist anymore. There is also no more bichir of the month, etc.)
