i was actually going to message you felipe since you've collected them too, what other gymnos, tetras, or other fish are collected from the same area? it looks like i'll be setting up a 75g and i'd like to do a bio-theme for it

It depends on which population we are talking about...the C.punctata are from the east, south east and north east regions.
(or are you talking about other punctata than the ones I collect?)

I'm a huge fan of Gymnogeophagus labiatus "Big Lips". A pair of them would look great with you new pike if you can find them. The Gymnogeophagus n.sp. "Blue Neon" are pretty common so you should be able to get them pretty easy. One of our LFS even had a bunch a couple weeks ago.

Looks like a little tyke at that! LoL! He'll perk right up and eat sooner than you know. Them Uruguay pikes are easy to get onto foods.

good. scott said he was on feeders and market shrimp. i wont be using feeders so it looks like i'll be getting some shrimp tonight. im surprised he turned down bloodworms, may have been stressed. i got him in 75degrees and this morning he was very interested in seeing me. you think i should bump the temps till the ick is gone?

Don't see why you can't keep him in 80 degree water most of the time. Just a few months out of the year drop the temp to lower 70s upper 60s.
