overall ive heard good reviews of the fluval 405, and it is a good price, but is it quiet? also long lasting?FSM;2573260; said:I agree with the person who suggested 404s. I have 2, they seem very nice. Plus they are cheaper than xp3s or eheims.
It's very quiet. As to its longevity, I've only had mine a month. But it works great so far.nitrofish1;2573943; said:overall ive heard good reviews of the fluval 405, and it is a good price, but is it quiet? also long lasting?
nic suggested a refugium along with a protein skimmer, prolly live rock and sand as wellwestcoaster;2573985; said:I personally wouldn't worry about the cannister filter on a marine tank.
In my experience just heaps of live rock, plenty of powerheads, and a good quality skimmer will do the job nicely.
