Which vieja?

The Vieja family does have alot of beautiful fish, which makes for a hard choice. I know I have been wanting to get some myself and can not decide. Plus they all get big and you need alot of space. The Syns, BB, Regani, and Zons are all on my wish list. Jeff Rapps is a good place to get fish, and he usually has alot of the Vieja family to choose from. I would keep checking if you want to get more. Good luck with your recent pick up. Let us know how it is going and share some pics. :)

I have a black belt.. he's not that agressive.. but I think that has something to do with the red devil, I have to get rid of, thats been kicking his ass

Yeah? Well The next vieja I get (and I definately want another... this regani is awesom!) will have its own tank, most likely a spare 65g, so agression wont be an issue.

Aftere looking at pix of aquamojo's zonatus... I really want one! That might be the nicest fish I have seen in my life, no joke.

The problem with the heterospilus is that a 1.5" fish would be eaten in almost all of my tanks, and I dont want to put it in a 10g.

I saw some 3 inch V. Heterospillum on Aquabid.com for $15 each. Might want to look into that. Also saw a 6" Regani as well. You could probably house them together and see how it goes. Both are pretty mellow and it might just work.

Cool! I'm not sure how much room im going to have though... I have some severum growouts which will need a tank. Maybe i should spring for a 75 and put my growouts in there with a new viejs :)

If you can find them...Vieja Ufermanni are interesting and unusual. I have Synspilum, Bifasciatum, Zonatum, Regani, Heterospilum, Fenetratum, Maculicada (Rio Jutiapa...no black bar), Breidohri (really nice fish), Micropthalmus and Argentae. Without a doubt...as a wet pet...Zonatum. If you want mellow, Ufermanni or Tuyrensis. Good luck...great species complex.
