Which water Pokemon would you own!?

I once bred my red gyrados and has a shiny magikarp...awesome!
 
Speaking of shiny, in my hours upon hours that I played the games, I never once encountered a shiny in any game or generation. I've probably seen at least 100,000 Pokemon and I've still lost to the 1-1892 odds......

Never seen a shiny pokemon beside the red Gyarados and his offspring (the shiny Magikarps). I probably have 14 shiny Magikarps right now but then again I hasn't play the Silver game many years ago.

Yeah I typed the odds in wrong, but I would kill to even see just 1, 10 is just excessive, did he just randomly encounter them or do techniques that improved his chances?
