I know, that's why after about 1.5 years ( when i have some dough ) i will buy a 150g tank.

Not sure if you've got the fish yet, but if that's the timetable you're looking at I wouldn't get the O's or knife yet...get your synos, severum, and eel and grow them; if you get the CK and O's now they'll outgrow that 55 in 9 months, a year tops.

The oscar tank would include:
4 Oscars
1 Clown knife
1 Fire eel
1 Cactus pleco

The oddball tank would include:
1 Clown knife
1 fire eel
several various plecs
1 severum
several various synos

Either one that is chosen, these fish will be housed in a 55g with 1000GPH filtration, than be upgraded to probably a 150-180gallon tank.

I am torn between the two!!! :WHOA:

i would do the second one. :D

not a big fan of oscars so i'd say oddball tank

Ugh I babysat my friends oscar for a little over a week and it was disgusting. He burried the poo under the sand and turned it black. Methane was not quite present but it was close. Such an ugly wild oscar too lol.

Fire eel will also outgrow a 55 in approximately a year depending what size you get it at. both it and the CK will need more 'n 180 gallons imo. minimum for those fish would be a 220. You will also need to maintain pristine water conditions as fire eels are rather sensitive to ammonia/nitrites. You plan on getting alot of big fish that grow quick. I have 3 fire eels and an O in a 40B atm and after less then 6 monthes they need their upgrade.

I would seriously consider if you have the money, and dedication it takes to house all of these monsters. Fire eels are also very finicky eaters and may pose a challenge in the feeding department.

Love the oscar idea. Can't go wrong with an Oscar. I've always wanted a fire eel, like the red in them. Scratch the pleco and go with a catfish of some sorts.

The oddball tank would include:
1 Clown knife
1 fire eel
several various plecs
1 severum
several various synos
Personally scratch this idea. The first two fish are fine but more than 1 pleco is boring to me at least. I've had a sev before, their too docile for me. Add a Oscar to spice it up or any fast moving fish that moves around alot and you will be set

Just my .28 cents.

How about:
1 Oscar
1 Vieja
1 Arowana ( Trade for clown knife? )
1 Cactus pleco
1 Gold nugget pleco

OR
2 Oscars
1 Clown knife
1 Cactus pleco
1 Gold nugget pleco
1 Syno E.

OR

6 Discus
20 or so Neon Tetras

I don't know how an Aro would do with an Oscar but I've always wanted one so I go with this combo. :D

I hear discus need near perfect water conditions, to much of a hassle for me. I wouldn't want them to die just because I skipped a WC. If you can keep up with them though, then go ahead and get them they do look amazing!
