Sometimes there are just duh moments in my life. :D I have always picked healthy and largest fishes.

Saw 2 almost dead aros today and was tempted to ask the owner if he was willing to sell the fishes for a discounted price. The insanity continues.....

i always choose the healthier ones over the beautiful because a healthy fish is a beautiful fish :D but i cannot say the same for women :naughty:

Nah mate women too...healthy with some meat on the bones :headbang2

Ok don't panic as most laps are lazy or inactive. Try to add some healthy feeders and turn the lights off. If some of them or all disappear over night then it's a healthy bichir. You have to remember that it's only been recently ship and still settling in. It may take a few days or weeks. Also when getting a wild bichirs as I get most wild bichirs strait from their native habitat, always de-worm them. A sick bichir will normally hang out from the top or breathing hard.

Taking into account that they were just shipped in today. Which would you pick.. the healthy active fish that looked average OR the sickly beauty (well beautiful to me). :D

shipped in today??? my LFS usually quarantines fish for a week. they are on display but not available for purchase for a week.

anyways hopefully it will be fine. my ornate didn't eat for two weeks but was quite active. i have never owned a lap so i don't know how they act but judging from the comments it seems they are lazy anyway.

Yeah i broke my own rule of "Not getting fish the first few days they get in the store". Too many commandments broken to count. :D

I actually saw my Lap twitch today... so there might still be hope. After saying that, i have this paranoid feeling that i will find him dead when i get home. :(

Do 50% water change and add some salt about 1 tsp per 5g. Your water param is probably not right as it shows signs of stress after few days of having it in your tank. Once it settled down it will become hardy as hell.

Beauty is what I would have chosen too. If I get a fish at a store most of the time I am bringing it to a better home and it will get healthier in time. Better IMO than getting an ugly fish I wont be happy with.
