I'd go with the weeksi because I haven't seen one in Spokane. Only saw laps once, but that's one more time than I've seen weeksi.:wall:

I'd get the weeksi, but your tank not mine

Id get the lap.

i would take a delhezi or a platnum bichir in pretty much any medium size instead.

It's a tough choice. It really depends upon what you knowledge is of the choices you've selected. If you already have a species with an upper jaw, I would probably go for one that has a lower jaw.

My reasoning is, it gives you a wider range of old world fish to learn more about. They all have similarities, (i.e.- general appearance, camoflaged patterns, etc.) but it would be nice to be able to have a greater amount of knowlegde of both upper and lower jaw type.
Being a hobbyist of old world fish, there are many color morphs, sizes, and species, etc. I personally would enjoy trying to learn as much as I can, from all types of birchirs. Doing this through personal observation and making my own notes, with daily/weekly observations being in a biotope suited for these particular fish and writing my observations in a journal.

Good luck with your decision and I hope you choose one which you truly will enjoy.

This...

Plus Lower-Jaw species look much more "bad-ass" than the upper jaw ones..when you view the head of a larger fish... (I am basing this on my observation between my Endlis and my Dels..which are nowhere close to being as exotic as the ones you are choosing.)

Good luck with whatever you get,

Sid
