I found a "Blueberry Oscar"....yes a blueberry oscar at my LFS. First dyed fish I've ever seen in real. Makes me fu------ sick to see a dyed fish thats for sale at my LFS. & guess how much they want for a little 3"? $22...the same price of an undyed one here.

& sorry, I didn't take a picture of it because I forgot my phone at home, maybe next time I go back to the LFS I can take a photo of it; but by then it will probably be sold (sadly). It wasn't as blue as the name suggests, but it did have a faint blue coloring to it.

Now, I would like to know if any of you have found any dyed fish for sale at your LFS(s). If you've seen a dyed fish for sale at your LFS(s) recently or in the past, please post what they were. & if you could post a picture of them, that'd be great! I just want to see all the different fish people have dyed and have made their ways into fish stores. (Even though its pretty sickening to see and hear...)

wtf where i live a 3" oscar is like $4

22 bucks for a 3 inch undyed oscar! wow that's rape

Indeed, thats why I haven't bought any. Most of the ones he has are sick too, mostly with ich..and he still wants $16-22 for them.

not an oscar fan myself but yeah i've seen alot of sickly lookin ones at LFS so i know what you mean.

as for the original topic, i go straight to the back and look at the big predators and dont' really look at everything so i have not noticed any dyed fish

Lol, I usually do that but not until I look at the cichlid aisle

blood parrots and long finned tetras, in blue pink and green

i see blood parrots that are dyed all different colors of green, pink, blue, purple. thats the one i see the most often, have also seen "tattooed" fish with like hearts and different shapes on them. when i first seen them my kids went crazy wanting one, but after i explained to them about how they got that way, and that the color will fade away, they now get upset when we see any dyed fish.

and as far as $22 bucks for an oscar, thats just crazy....$4-5 is about the average around here, but just like where u are at, it seems that lfs have a hard time keeping them healthy
