I've seen the blueberry oscars as well as blue arowanas.Gimicks if you ask me,like those deformed, short bodied fish.
i see blood parrots that are dyed all different colors of green, pink, blue, purple. thats the one i see the most often, have also seen "tattooed" fish with like hearts and different shapes on them. when i first seen them my kids went crazy wanting one, but after i explained to them about how they got that way, and that the color will fade away, they now get upset when we see any dyed fish.
and as far as $22 bucks for an oscar, thats just crazy....$4-5 is about the average around here, but just like where u are at, it seems that lfs have a hard time keeping them healthy
yea i keep a tank for them, in which they have blood parrots and they couldn't understand why i wouldn't let them have the pretty purple one so i explained to them what i knew about it. the best part for me about explaining it all to them was when we went into a small mom and pop store where they had dyed fish, and my daughter actually told the employee how bad they were for selling those fish. i couldn't have been more proud
what store?
Its in Beloit, WI... called J&S Pet Store...only fish store here in Beloit I believe, so its the only one I go to...
oh haha. if you havent already, you should make the trip down to rockford and check out prime aquatics, its the nicest lfs in the area IMO
