While browsing through my LFS

I've seen the blueberry oscars as well as blue arowanas.Gimicks if you ask me,like those deformed,short bodied fish.

I can understand kids wanting to go crazy for them, & it sucks you have to get their hopes down & make them upset but its way better to educate them on how cruel it is and why its best if you don't buy them. Not only do their colors eventually fade, but their lifespans are greatly reduced and they're more prone to developing diseases. Props to you for educating them and not "supporting" dyed fish :thumbsup:
 
yea i keep a tank for them, in which they have blood parrots and they couldn't understand why i wouldn't let them have the pretty purple one so i explained to them what i knew about it. the best part for me about explaining it all to them was when we went into a small mom and pop store where they had dyed fish, and my daughter actually told the employee how bad they were for selling those fish. i couldn't have been more proud

wooww! haha $22 for a 3" oscar must not be a fishstore ,thats worst then the chinese over priced fishstore but even they sell them for the max $5.99
 
I've seen blood parrots dyed and tattooed all different colors, heart parrot with no tail, tattoed mollies and giant gouramies

I'll have to check it out...Aquatics Unlimited in Greenfield seems a lot nicer too
