if someone you know is knowledgable about fish and want you to only do certain things...just do those things ie: if they ask you to feed a certain food only feed that certain food only feed that food. do not experiment with other things.

ok i wasnt gona tell anyone cause it hurts, but i left for canada for a week leaving specific instructions for my dad to feed black worms to my azul tank. well he was to only feed black worms for them and pellets for the festae...well he goes inside to feed the bigger p bass and notices that they take pellets so he decides that hey the azuls will eat them too. so he feeds them black worms and pellets everyday and they didnt eat them soo all this waste was left in the tank without water changes. i arrive at night and am decide to do waterchanges in the morning. morning comes around and i wake up to a phone call saying that the 2 peacockbass had died in the top tank. lesson learned for him to listen to me once in a while. now i an azul for a very very long time 
Most fish can go up to weeks without food, I would have just fed them before i left than came home and fed them.
Bad news sorry.
The mother in law looked after the pond over the holidays. I don't know if it was mothering instinct or get at the sun in law but the fish were close to bursting when I got back, good job its a mild winter and Ive got an auto feeder on the aquarium.
Have to get a web cam and watch watch their doing.
