I have a 35 gallon Hex for when he's a bit bigger. Which is more important, tank height, or tank length? If it's length, we might just get the Clown Knife a new tank, and put Whip back into the 75.

Your RBP would be better off staying in the 29g, the length and width should aways be priority over height.

Nice little RBP, BTW.

Thanks, and I thought it was length, but I wasn't sure.....I'll just upgrade him to something longer.

I'm very proud of my piranha, he's been with me a little over a month, and he's grown and inch and 3/4!! Which means I'm doing something right. He's not as skittish as he was before, and will swim around and "hunt" his cichlid pellets while I'm watching him. He seems like he feels more secure in that smaller tank than he did in the larger one.

I would like to get more in the future, but I'm not quite sure when that'll be, but this guy might just be neighbors if we get another one. I would like to pic up a small gold spilo and raise it. Or if I cold get my hands on a blue diamond without spending an arm and a leg. That'd be nice too.

:WHOA: :screwy::ROFL: LMAO!!

What's wrong with my pretty pink gravel?! It doesn't affect his manliness, so it stays until I can find a good sand to use that won't gunk up my filter.

I'm wanting a white sand, but how can I keep it out of my filter, and from clouding my water every time I move something? If not White, then Gray or Black.

hey, I don't mind the gravel!! I tried to buy some like that for my goldfish tank and Jordan said, "Oh, now your trying to be like Becka??" lol I ended up getting white gravel for them.

I aksed Jordan last night if someday I could have a shoal of RBP's, and he said we will someday have a shoal of piraya instead, which get larger I think. I just think a shoal of them would be so interesting to watch.

They have a ton of RBP's at an LFS here, but most have chunks missing from their backs. I am guessing that is because they are in such a tiny tank?? If you come visit, you can take a nice shoal home with you ;)

Jordan said if we get red bellies that he would just buy all of them in the one tank hich is atleast 12. Of course, I would have a terrible time keeping track of their names....

Oh yeah, and we did black sand in our Rhom tank....turned out to be a mess and not the greatest idea. I won't do sand in any other tanks.

You ask Jordan, What's wrong with trying to be like me?! I'm totally awesome!! ^_~

HMMMMM.....How much are they selling them for down there? Our LFS has a bunch of them for $10. But I could say I'm on a rescue mission (which means, shut up Brian and give me your wallet lol) And maybe we could get half, and you guys could get half!!

I like the RBPs, b/c they're smaller. I would have a hard time finding a container for a HUGE piranha, I had to buy a styrofoam cooler just to bring Loki home!!

I'm thinking about upgrading to a plastic cooler, and getting a battery powered airpump. That way, if we come down there, and DO end up bringing something home, it'll survive the long car ride.

(You should mix pink and purple gravel in with your white, it'd be pretty!!)

I think the gravel in my tanks (there are 2 of them with these funky colors) are a mix of coarse sand, and somewhere between 4-6 bags of gravel. I think we had 4 bags in the 75, and 2 in the 29, I put all of the gravel into the 75 when I put whip in there, and took a bunch out when I had Jelllybean in the 10, rinsed that and put it back into Whip's tank when I put him back into the 29.

Also, my Goldy tank has red and green gravel....which is NOT getting mixed with my black, blue, pink, teal, purple, (insert other colors here) gravel!!

lol Jordan has this blue tote and yellow air pump that he takes EVERYWHERE with him. When we go to PA, it goes too. When we go to the creek, it goes too. It has actually come in handy for us when we are out and about and need to put something in it. I can't tell you how many animals have been in that thing!!

Last night we had a horrible storm and the power went out for only about a minute, but the first thing Jordan said is, "We have to go to Wal Mart." We got extra batteries for the air pumps. The gar would be alright, but the aro and rhom were our biggest worries.

Anyway, I don;t remember pricing on the RBP's, but there were about 3 different tanks with them in of different sizes so they were priced accordingly. Supposedly piraya turn on each other eventually, so if we do get a nice shoal it will be red bellies!! A don;t want a bunch of big expensive fish just beating on each other all the time.

EXACTLY!! Lol!!

The funniest thing is, I paid HALF of what the LFS is asking for RBPs...Well, a little over half....I paid 6 bucks.
He was the same size as the ones that are at the other store.

Every time I go in there I look at theirs and say. "Whip is so much bigger than these likkle babies!!" Brian laughs at me, then drags me away to look at the Puffers he wants!!

I call my Piranha my "Babyfish" Brian thinks it's a hoot. But he is, and he knows it! He was swimming around his tank last night when I was trying to go to bed, and I put my finger to the glass again, and he stopped and looked at it for a second, before resuming his "hunting"

About an hour south of Jackson.

Which store is it?
