Hi everyone.

I have a 165L/45gal/3ft tank. I have currently got three discus 10-13cm big, and two bristlenose's 4-5cm big. Now that I am back from holidays, I can start to re-stock my tank. I will also be re-aquascaping it.

In a month or so I will be buying a 2ft tank, for a fry grow out tank for other fish which are not in this tank.

I think I may move the bristlenose catfish from the discus tank into the grow-out 2ft tank. In replacement for the bristlenose catfish,I was thinking of putting in two whiptail catfish, probably royals.

If yes, the stocking ideas when finished will be:
♣ 4x discus
♣ 2x whiptail catfish (maybe royals)
♣ 4x blue OR bolivian rams
♣ 10x cardinal tetras (or more?)

The tank will be planted with valisneria (thin probably), Amazon swords and anubius. It will have plenty of driftwood too.

That is they plan for now. Do you think it will work? Will the fish all get along?
Will the water conditions be be suitable for all fish (the pH:6.8,
temp:28degrees C, Nitrite:0, Nitrate, 10-20, Ammonia:0, Kh:5-6degrees).

Thank you all in advanced, the help will truely be appreciated.

(PS. I do a water change every week of at least 25% and I going to start doing 10% every second day with a 25% waterchange once a week.)

The bristlenose you have are plecos. The royals are actually generally farlowellas, and are great fish, but personally I prefer the L010a, red lizard loricarias for my discus tank. The L183 whiteseam pleco is another looker for discus tanks.

I have never had any species of whiptail bother other fish but they will eat eggs and fry
