white algae/fungus growing on driftwood

I just started my tank and its been cycling for 3 weeks, decided to put in my driftwood with some java moss attached and left it for another week and this stuff started growing no idea what it is any one have a clue? i recently put in 2x banded archerfish 2x rendahls catfish and 5x macro shrimp in there hopefully this stuff isnt harmful to them.

Take it out and bleach it ...Then soak in declorinated water to remove the chlorine from the bleach...Should be ok...You dont want any of the fungus getting on your fish...

Lol this is a different type of fungus than the one that would affect fish... This type of fungus seems fairly common with new driftwood. Usually you can just use a siphon to remove it until it stops growing.

Completely harmless, its actually bacteria feeding off of the decaying organic matter in the wood. As said before just manually remove it with a siphon, some algae eater may even pick at it a little.

Yeah you'll see this on newly added driftwood. It will go away after a couple weeks if you leave it.
