white film on glass

my light as of lastweek were on 1-2 hr a day, but for a week or so now i keep them on longer. and the white film has been on the glass for a few weeks now, so it can't be from lighting I don't think.

Is it rough and really hard to scrape off? Could be mineral deposits, I have very hard water and for some reason it will build up on the glass, especially the back.
 
it is slimey , i can wipe off with my finger and it's everywhere on the tank, front, sides, top bottom, middle etc. i can just wipe it off but i wanna know what iti s
 
That's bacteria, live and dead. It is visible because it is in huge quantities. It's actually a full microscopic ecosystem. There is probably some algae in there too. The bacteria will feed on it and other nutrients. The waste adds up to form the bulk of the goo. It is normal and nothing to worry about. Buy a tank scrubber (looks like a toilet brush) and clean the inside of the tank weekly.
