White haze on catfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My quarantine currently has a couple fish he would probably eat right now. If needed it can wait a bit bc treatment currently means treating 180 gallons. What would be the next course of action. Other thing to note that I posted in the catfish forum is that it's been swimming in circles against the glass for days now. It stops to eat but during the day it's up and down the glass all day.
I'd just go w/ the 3-in-1 medications if the salt isn't working soon. It could be Fungal, Bacterial or Parasitic.....best to treat w/ something that does all 3 and be on the safe side.

Try Seachem's Polyguard.....it's has been recommended to me for such instances

So I've had the catfish in my hospital tank for a week now and treating with polyguard since then with no change in the whiteness behind the head of the fish. It hasn't eaten since I moved it to the hospital tank. Not sure what else to try.

pretty sure Polyguard is a 2 week medication. When I used Paraguard I added it everyday for 14 days

It is a two week medication. It says to add it every 3 days but I've been doing every other day.
just let it run it's course then.....should take care of it. If it doesn't I don't know what else to do then, Polyguard is about as top of the line as it gets. If it's not Bacterial, Fungal or Parasitic, I have NO IDEA what else it could be

Next Wednesday will be 2 weeks. I'll report back then. Thanks.

I would towards ammonia exposure. What are parameters?
There has been no ammonia in my tanks. The only thing that's a little high is my ph at about 7.5. The nitrates are between 10-20. The ph ended up so high after I added crushed coral to the filters because my well water is at about 6 and I thought that was too low. I didn't expect it to go so high with the coral.
