ok, first let me say im sorry because i believe this question has been asked a million times, but i need some ideas here. here is some info:
tank size 120g (60"x18")
tank set up time- approx 3 mos
ammonia-0
nitrite-0
nitrate-0*
ph-8
filtration- 2 rena xp4 (everything is the way it came out of the box plus an extra polishing pad up top and one basket full of ceramic rings) for a total of 900 gph (7.5 turnover rate)
2 12" airstones
stock- 3 florida gars around 10", 1 peacock eel and i just had a big oscar that i moved out but the problem existed before and after him
i do about 45% w/c once weekly and treat with aquasafe
ive cut back my feeding to live feeders once or twice a wk
i did just switch my substrate from gravel to sand last night, but again its existed before this.
since i put in the extra polishing pad it seemed to help a little with maybe with the finer particals but still that haze
* ive never had any nitrates at all if that matters
so ive read countless threads saying anything from bacteria bloom to over feeding, one person said theyre tank was understocked, overstocked, more filtration, more bio media more mech media, one said theyre water was over oxygenated (i did turn off my air wands to see what that would do, its only been a few minutes) anyone have any ideas? all my fish are fine and healthy and eating good. please help thanks guys!!
