Hey, All!

About a year or so ago I purchased a female White Pearl from exotic aquatics and posted some pics. I was pretty unsure how I expected her to mature as I could find almost no info on white based pearls. I was given the first pic below and told that that fish was from a different litter from the same parents of the one I was purchasing. Regardless of how my pup turned out I would be happy if it turned half as nice as the ray in that picture.

Below that are some pics of her when I first got her and then some of her as of last night.

Tank is white tile Bottom and black background. Has been almost the entire time she's been in the tank.

Let me know what you think. She definitely didn't turn out as I was hoping or expecting but regardless she is an extremely healthy fish with a very unique pattern. Never once did I have a single issue with her feeding or acclimating to the tank. She loves my BD/Leo hybrid male too.. who knows what the future will bring...

Is the last picture the latest picture?

She is a beautiful ray but I have to agree with you that she is not what I would expect a white pearl to look like
I can only think she is a hybrid pearl as obviously with hybrids pups from the same litter can look very different from each other
She has got some nice patterning

The last 3 pictures on there are all from the same day so they're the most recent.

I'm not super familiar with pearls or pearl hybrids but she is pretty. Not what I expected and probably not worth what I paid, but really who cares? She's a beautiful, happy fish that I enjoy.

Hmmm. I remember when I was flamed for saying white pearl is a sale hoax. To bad how it turned out, wonder if the white tank in the pic had a similar WTT effect as it does for aros. Still a nice fish, I wouldn’t be mad with it. Hope you didn’t fork out to itch for her. Doesn’t look hybrid to me personally, looks like a pearl.

Nice ray but I ha e always been on the side of white pearls being a sales gimmick. Havent seen an adult yet that is anywhere near white or super light base unless using light and white based tanks.

Its much like SWD and EWD. If you have ever seen the adults they look like typical BDs and some worse. Spots are all controlled by tanks color and lighting.

Neat markings. Some of the spots look like question marks??? If you ever sell her you can beef up your marketing and say she is a riddler white pearl!!$$$$$

How big is she, wonder if she will develop more markings as she grows?

White tank treatment.

Ask the peddlers these days. They'll tell you that all this imported stuff must be kept in the same white tanks they come out of or the pattern goes to shiat.

Some call it "grooming" . Others call it lying.

I almost feel sorry for the people that are trying to aquire rays today. Very hard to place trust in anyone to get pure unmanipulated rays that are really what they are marketed as. Hell even most pics taken of rays these days look messed with......

That being said I DO think a white Pearl exists.

Now there's an idea. Extra $200 per punctuation mark (periods inckuded) I have noticed the question marks though. They're pretty unique, that's for sure. Hoping they don't break up as she gets a bit older.
