Here is a pic of that Platinum channa that was posted for sale here sometime ago. What channa species is this one?

Also, found this pic on the net, labled as... "Yellow Channa?" Species?? :uhoh: :popcorn:

hi col, got that pic from an acquaintance awhile back... don't know if still currently has? do have another pic when was younger...think it shows a better head profile shot. i'll try to dig it up.

agreed, definitely don't think it's striata either?

hi phull , hard to tell from that angle. does not look straita at that angle , but still could be , could use a shot of the head really

the platinum looks like sp. platimun a new species , but i havnt seen this in person yet , iam sure jelly has either got / had one or at least seen them and could probably confirm



and the yellow one i have no idea at all , never seen this one before

Could this one be what they now call Channa sp White Pearl Lemon?

Beautyfull fish and in the above pix does not look Striata to me....

I think that's a normal striata. It looks "whiter" than it actually is probably due to the strong light in the same direction of the camera falling on its body. It should look more like golden and small striatas (around 1 inch) look golden. As they grow older/larger, this gold color is lost and replaced by darker color.

The bottom one, that has almost totally black eyes, I think it is a leucistic snakehead with "panda" variant (due to the eyes, thus this "panda" name). I have seen something like that on sale but it was an arapaima, not a snakehead. I have a leucistic snakehead but only normal eyes, not the "panda" variant. Perhaps I would post a video in the near future...
