My coment: you didnt manhandle your gecko, however you didnt handle it the rigth way either

Notice that this guy lets the gecko grab its finger wich gives him security, wille using the uper finger to hold it gently in place. No wonder it was mad at you. She doesant uderstend that you are not a hawk, they grab their prey much like that. You need to handle it from bellow, not up.
And yes its not wise to take pics as soon as your herp arrives home...And dont forget croc geckos are 100% hands of pets, not only they stress very much with handling but they can lose their tails very easily and sometimes even from fear (but this is generaly the small ones). Im not trying to be a "#$% at you, just to show you the rigth way

It's common knowledge here that you research a pet before you buy it and he was trying to clue you in on it. Obviously you know now, and it looks like you're going to take good care of it.
