Cool. I live in tacoma around 30 to 45 minutes away (traffic) and I make the trip several times a month. It worth it for the quality of fish and kevins (one of the owners) brain.

I'm the opposite way, but a good 30-45 minutes north (and west now). When I had tanks up, I visited once a week almost it seemed. Deffinately worth the drive, and I love chatting with Kevin (though he's more of a central american guy). Still, once he learned I liked dwarf pikes, he had brought in like 3 differant species. Ah I miss those days. Bleeping economy.

That and having an Irish Pub next door ... I love visiting that place!! :headbang2

my two spot pike ended up being a crenicichla alta

I picked up a 5 inch lucius for 8 bucks. Pretty sure its a female from pictures I saw. Ate without a problem 15 minutes after I put it in. I'm happy.

Anthony ~ Awesome fish!! I'm tellin ya, they can be super addicting. Definitely awesome fish. Glad you are so stoked with them, they are worthy of all the praise you can give them! :)

It kindda funny I bought the lucius knowing it probably won't get along with the sveni. Tried it anyway 15 minutes later pulled out the sveni and put it in my C. American tank. I think I'm gonna take the best looking male green terror from the fry I'm raising and sticking the sveni with him in a tank I'm gonna build. In wall 32"X24"x24". I'm gonna try to learn acrylic tank building.

Does anyone know much about the regani dwarf pikes. I've read a bit about them but I want to use them in a tank I've had in the planning phase for a while. Compatability is what I'm questioning.12 Bleeding heart tetras, 2 severums, 6 corys, and a few uncommon plecos. I wanted a pair of dwarf cichlids, rams or something. Now I want to see if I could use a pair of dwarf pikes instead. This is my ideal stock list for a 150 I have. Maybee this should have it own thread.

P.S. I figured out a way to post pics from my phone. G1 rules

That would be a great tank for the dwarfs. I don't see any problems actually. :) I have my notos. with some smaller fish, and have kept them with tetras no problem. :) Just if your fish breed, the pikes will pick them off for sure.

That's no problem I am going with two males for the severum and plecos will be diffrent species. I don't think the bleeding hearts or corys will breed. I've never been succesfull with anything other then plecos and cichlids (never really tried though). I useually try to keep a breeding pair in all my tanks (nutrients for the other fish). But I'm intentionaly trying to make it so the only thing that can breed is the pikes and I am not going to bank on that or even try for it. I just want something nice in my room to fall asleep to. Thanks for the advice.

I thought about notos but I read somewhere I think from that mostly cichlids link that they get much bigger in captivity then in the wild. Bigger pikes might be able to eat bleeding hearts. Did I misread or am I thinking of a diffrent spieces. Notos were my first choice ( I like the red outline on the dorsel fin). But I thought I read that. If you give a go on notos I will. The regani were my second pick. Thanks again.

Nope, the bleeding hearts would be just fine with the notos. Mine are pushing 4", maybe even 5", can't tell for sure, but their mouths are so small they would have a hard time even eating rosy reds. Just get tetras that are deep bodied and you will be fine. ;) Bleeding hearts would be perfect actually. :)

There are some nice notos on aquabid, Grey has them for sale. Thats where I got mine. ;)
