I too live in CT and have seen a white squirrel. It looked like some one stole the stripe off of a skunk and let it run loose.

I presumed it was an albino. I only saw it once, at a street corner that is less than 1/2 mile from my house. I go through this corner about 30 times a week.

The black ones are quite common in upstate NY. They are the predominant color in the Niagara area, I have seen them in Oswego (North of Syracuse) and in the finger lakes area.
