White Stuff Floating Around Tank...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I cant see the eggs. They laid they eggs under a rock. they dug the pebbles out from under a rock and laid them there. I am scared to put my hand in the tank to see if they are. They already ripped my crawfishes claw off.

Looks like Planaria to me. You have gravel in your tank, a big problem with gravel is that you can never get ALL of the fish waste/fish food even with thorough gravel vacuuming. This is why I'm a strong supporter of bare bottom tanks. Also, it looks like you have more than an inch and a half thick of gravel. I recommend you remove some of the gravel(or all of it) and do a huge vacuuming.

Someone stated that they(Planaria/worms) will eat your eggs and that you should nuke them with meds. Not true. Do not give out false info if you don't know what you're talking about. Just do big gravel vacs and you should be fine. I recommend you go bare bottom. HTH's

Thank you. I dont think I will be that easily persuaded into going bare bottom. I will do the water changes and vacuums more frequently though

You could always do sand as well....
I hate gravel for the reason stated above... not matter how much you vaccuum theres always gunk left under there. With sand the gunk just stays on top fo it and more often than not gets kicked into the fitler

Really? How do you clean the sand? I always thought about getting sand instead.
