White stuff on my Driftwood?!

So I recently just picked up some wild driftwood from my local lake a couple weeks ago. I looked online and most forums said to soak and boil it, so I soaked it for two days, and then boiled it for ~30 min. But weeks later, I see this white color on the wood (See image), I looked online, and have seen websites about a white-ish fungus but not anything about this streak of white. I have since removed that price of driftwood from the aquarium. But if someone could tell me if this is safe or not, or why this is happening, please tell me! Thanks!

Looks like a bit of fungus, just hasn't had time to grow long.

Looks to be a fungus, saprophytic kind. Usually harmless. Fish will eat it sometimes. Just scrub it off aor leave alone and remove when cleaning the tank.

I usually soak my driftwood for at least 2 weeks before I use them. Even then I do get some fungus growth or algae bloom on them. Nothing that my bristlenose can’t take of.

I've never soaked my driftwood, always just hose it off and scrub if it has any sand on it and straight into the tank. Don't recall ever having any growths.

All of mine comes from the ocean though, maybe the salt sterilizes it a bit vs rivers or the storebought stuff that's dug out of a swamp.

Fungi,it's harmless and generally goes away.

Have some on wood I put in months ago and haven't had any issues.
