Within my pool I am seeing a settling white powder. Its sticking to most things, pump, plumbing, filter intake and tubing, and mostly settles in my sump. All foam style filter pads are absorbing it, I ring them out and it almost looks like milk. the inside of my canister was all loaded up... What is this. i am guessing some kind of mineral or something. The water isn't cloudy but is foaming. What the hell. Hopefully someone can help me out more than saying "do a water change". Thanks mike

Do you have pics?

I can post pics tomorrow but its just tiny water particles in the base of the filter and a white slimy substance on everything else. really weird

Using any treatments or chemicals?

that happened when i used aragonite sand without rinsing it

I used some gravel but washed it first. The pool has had no fish in it or chemicals added except stresscoat for dechlor but that was 2 weeks ago and the foam started a few days ago....

Thats weird I ve had slime on the top of my water b4, but it eventually went away and I had white foam before and it had white junk that stuck to my tank, but it was due to calcium build up o__o not sure about white stuff that comes out like milk though thats strange.

hmm, what else is in there besides gravel? i doubt its that, it wouldve arose a while ago
They are definitely not the reason, though. This is why it is so weird. I think it is just calcium from evaporation. I am hoping once I add the bioload and start some serious water changes it will go away!
